Church String Band Camp:  (DRAFT ONLY)

An opportunity to meet and discuss the formation and support of church string bands, select hymns, educate the guiding hands, hear from experienced founders from other groups, listen and learn as we bring in music instructors, even hear from the congregation what they might like to sing in services.

Saturday  October  ___  2026     10 am to 9pm (including lunch & dinner by the bonfire)

Workshops include:

10am - Do I need a Banjo in my CHURCH STRING BAND?  Pastor Ned

11 am - How to Clean and Take Care of my instrument?  Marc Monico

Noon - “Why Old-time” (the film – 27 min) viewed during Lunch

1pm - Do String Band members also need to Sing?   Pastor Rako

2pm - Bass, Bass, or Bass?  Why you need a bass and not a drum in your string band.  Jamie & her Bass

3pm - Operation ‘Stumble-grass’ how to play together and why its NOT a jam. Pastor Ned

4pm - CHURCH STRING BAND sustainability – how to serve your church   -Dave Chamberland

5PM -  Panel Drumming up new CHURCH STRING BAND members   -Libby Zak & Lea Brownell
(the only drumming that should be allowed in Church)

6PM - Dinner and Bonfire  - fellowship/food & music-  rain or shine 🙂
